Who qualifies for IOH Certification.
IOH Certification is open to any operator currently performing or preparing to perform commercial overhead cleaning services. The requirements are designed to ensure every certified operator can deliver to the national standard — not to limit access to qualified professionals.
You Qualify If
- You operate or are forming a commercial cleaning business
- You have access to appropriate equipment for overhead work
- You can complete two supervised field certifications
- You can commit to the annual recertification requirement
- You intend to serve commercial facilities — not residential only
- You have or can obtain general liability insurance at required minimums

From application to certified in 30 days.
IOH staff review your application within 3 business days. Qualified applicants receive a confirmation and scheduling link for the protocol training. No upfront payment required at this stage.
Complete the IOH 47-point protocol training remotely. Delivered over two full training days via video conference. Includes written assessment at conclusion. Most operators complete with passing scores on first attempt.
Complete two field certification jobs with IOH oversight. You schedule these at your own facilities or with IOH-facilitated partner facilities in your market. IOH training staff review documentation and score protocol compliance.
IOH Certified status is issued. You receive the operator toolkit, certification mark files, Facility Compliance Report system, and your active directory listing. Annual recertification is automatically scheduled 12 months from issue date.
